Visitations & Viewings
Visitations are often held before the funeral service or gravesite ceremony. These may be as formal or informal as you wish. Some families personalize the room with items that reflect their loved one's favorite hobby or interest. In the case of cremation, a viewing may be held beforehand, or a visitation planned afterwards with the urn, portraits, floral pieces and personal items displayed.
Funeral Service
Funeral services are usually held at a funeral home or a church. Many families customize the service with special readings, music selections, family stories, pictures or videos to reflect the personality of their loved one.
Graveside Service
Services may also be held directly at the gravesite, depending on the cemetery and weather. It's up to you whether you involve clergy or choose to have friends or family members deliver some thoughtful words. Check with the cemetery, as fees and requirements vary from location to location. Cremated remains may also be buried with a graveside gathering.
Memorial Service
Some prefer to hold a memorial service after the burial or cremation. You may customize this and hold it at any location you wish. Often, people display portraits and mementos of their loved one in place of a casket. In the case of cremation, some families choose to display the urn as well.
Visitation Beverage Service
We offer an additional refreshment service to every family for visitations, services and gatherings in our funeral home. We have beverages, crackers and cheese, and oven-fresh cookies available.
Receptions
Many families choose to gather in a more intimate setting between visitations and/or after the service. Our on-site reception areas provide a great location and our menu features cake, coffee, light lunches and full-scale entrees.
